  • A Certified browser is one that has been fully tested and works with all features of Blackboard.
  • A Compatible browser has been tested with key areas of Blackboard, but may not work with all features.
  • A Provisional browser means that future technologies are considered supported by Blackboard Support.
  • A Not Certified browser has not been tested with Blackboard. We do not recommend using this browser.

Important Browser Notes:

  • The Visual Text Box Editor is only available on Windows computers running Internet Explorer.
  • The Safari browser for Macintosh does not fully support the Live Connect technology used by some features in Blackboard. Safari users may experience problems with the Equation Editor, Collaboration Sessions, and SCORM Content.
  • Firefox users taking timed tests in Blackboard must enable the "Change Status Bar Text" feature to view the Test Timer.
